In order to explain astrophysical phenomenon of a kinematic nature, the existence of a mysterious form of matter, namely dark matter, had been proposed long ago but unfortunately it has never been detected directly. Nevertheless, recent compelling evidence seems to suggest its existence might be unavoidable in our universe and cannot be explained by modified dynamics of gravity. Different topics related to dark matter including galaxy rotation curves, clusters of galaxies, structure formation and cosmology, modified newtonian dynamics as well as detection methods (microlensing, weak gravitational lensing, etc.) and the main dark matter candidates will be explored as well as the recent bullet cluster discovery and its implications to dark matter.
