How much can I expect to spend during one semester (four months)?
There is an estimation of what your budget per semester could look like in the Fees & Living Expenses Section.
Is it easy for an international student to find a part-time job?
There are some on-campus positions for international and exchange students. However, in order to be allowed to work, you need a C.A.Q. and a Study Permit (even if you are staying for one semester only). For information about off-campus jobs, go to the Career & Employment Center on campus located in the Student Union Building.
Will I need to open a bank account in Canada?
It is recommended to students who stay for more than one semester since it is less expensive than the withdrawal charges of a Master Card or a Visa. There are two ATMs on campus from which you can withdraw money at no charge, provided a bank account in a CIBC or Royal Bank branch has been opened.
How do I open a bank account?
To open a bank account, you must first make an appointment. When you go to the bank, you must present two pieces of identification: your Passport with your Study Permit (or your Bishop's letter of acceptance to confirm you are a student) and another official ID card: your Bishop's student ID card, your driver's license, etc. We recommend you ask for a Student Account.

It is possible that students may finish writing exams before the final day of the semester. Note that some students enjoy extending their stay in Canada after the exam period because it is a good opportunity to travel.
