Andréanne Roy

(Class of 2007; Major Hispanic Studies/Minor German Studies)

I am in the process of applying for Graduate School at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, where I wish to pursue a Master’s Degree in German Studies as of 2008-2009. My dream would be to teach one day at the Cegep and/or university level. Right now, I am working for a year as a French Language Assistant in Germany, a position I got through Quebec’s Ministère de l'Éducation, des Loisirs et du Sport. I couldn’t have gotten this job without my B.A. in Languages; not only did I need to be reasonably fluent in German, but I also needed to show that I was able to adapt to and respect my new working environment. I believe that the B.A. in Languages helped me open up to different cultures and mentalities and learn to appreciate them exactly for those differences!
