Mélanie Borgia

(Class of 2002; BBA International Commerce/Major Modern Languages with concentrations in German Studies and Hispanic Studies)

I am presently working as Trade Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, mainly responsible for bilateral commercial relations with East Africa. Prior to this position, I worked for various federal agencies: Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and Export Development Canada (EDC).

My studies and my exchanges abroad (Spain and Germany) have allowed me to broaden my horizons and demonstrate my ability to adapt to new situations, something that my employers definitely perceived as a plus when they hired me.
