(Class of 2003; Major in Modern Languages with concentrations in German Studies and Hispanic Studies/Minor Italian Studies)
I am working as Ingredients Buyer at one of Quebec's major food companies where I take care, among other things, of looking for suppliers, contract negotiation, supplies management, etc.
Since it was one of the requirements for my current job, my B.A. was useful to get the job in the first place. More specifically however, I would say that the B.A. helped me develop organizational skills and strong work ethics. I make use on a regular basis of the languages I studied, German and Spanish. Putting pressure on a supplier in his mother tongue does seem to do the trick much better!
