(Class of 2002; Major Modern Languages with concentrations in German Studies and Hispanic Studies)
After my B.A., I did a certificate in Human Resources and I am presently thinking of studying some more soon, perhaps in communications or international trade. I am now working as Sales Representative for a company that makes & exports wooden caskets and imports metal ones. Yes, caskets! It’s certainly different but, in a sense, it’s a job like any other. I take care of sales, shipping and regularly go on trade shows around the United States to promote our products and develop business relationships.
Thanks to my B.A. in languages, I was put in charge of the English-speaking market outside Quebec and was able to develop our market in Mexico. The fact that I finished my studies at Bishop’s by spending a semester in Mexico helped me become completely fluent and let me have a good grasp of the culture which is now paying off!
