(Class of 2003; Major Hispanic Studies/Minor English Language Studies/Minor Italian Studies)

After my B.A., I moved to Manitoba and started working as a freelance translator. Since I have a young daughter and am expecting a new baby soon, working from home has proven to be the ideal solution for me. I have been able to become “known” in the trade, enough to be working full-time. I am currently completing a Certificate in Translation with the Collège universitaire de St-Boniface (distance education) to help me refine my translations skills. Aside from allowing me to become fluent in the languages I studied, my B.A. was very often instrumental in getting contracts with translation firms.
