Dr. Michel Carle
Dr. Carle is the author of books, articles, papers and conferences on French romanticism and French Canadian literature. He is a reviewer for: the Canadian Council for the Arts Killam Prize, the Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences, and Aid to Scholarly Publication.

Dr. Jean Levasseur
For some years now, Dr. Levasseur has headed the Quebec Studies Section of the Département d’études françaises et québécoises. His doctorate is from Université de Bordeaux. As well, he holds a Master's degree in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Navarre and has done doctoral work in the same field at Bordeaux III. Dr. Levasseur is the author of Anatomie d'un référendum (Montreal: XYZ, 2002), which analyses the arguments used by politicians and the media during the 1995 campaign for the referendum on Quebec sovereignty. He recently published two critical editions of nineteenth-century fiction:La Maison du coteau , a French-Protestant novel published in 1881 by the Franco-American minister Joseph Provost (Sainte-Foy: Éditions de la Huit, 2000); and Un revenant, the 1884 novel by Rémi Tremblay based on the real-life story of a French-Canadian man's involvement in the American Civil War (Sainte-Foy: Éditions de la Huit, 2003).
