This is a sample of the EWP Exam instructions and topics. The actual topics on the Exam will be different.
SAMPLE EWP EXAMINATION
- You have two hours to plan, write, and proofread an essay on one of the topics below.
- Leave margins and double-space to allow for changes and corrections.
- The EWP Exam is not an intelligence or general knowledge test. It is a writing proficiency test judged on structure (organization & development) and style (standard and appropriate English).
- You may agree, disagree or examine different sides of the topic using logical and well-organized development.
- Use specific examples to support and illustrate your points.
- You may include personal observations.
- You will need to write about 500 words to develop your thesis adequately. This is normally about 4 to 6 pages in your test booklet double-spaced.

- Can violence be reduced?
- Marriage and independence do not go together.
- Is the main cause of pollution ignorance or greed?
