After Matthew left Bishops in 1992, he worked as a freelance lighting designer/tech while completing a certificate in Arts Administration from the University of Ottawa.

He earned an MFA in Theatre from Virginia Tech focusing on Internet technologies--writing and directing three live and on-line pieces.

After Tech, he worked as a consultant, taught continuing education at Tech, developed cultural sector programming, painted, and worked in a wine shop. Now employed by the Western States Arts Federation in Denver, Colorado as Director of Technology, he manages the technical aspects of http://artistsregister.com and www.artjob.org.
