One of Canada’s best known feminists and political commentators, Judy Rebick is a prominent social justice activist, writer, educator and speaker. Her latest book is Occupy This! (Penguin e book). She has worked as a journalist over the last 20 years, currently on the Q media panel on CBC radio and is the founding publisher of Canada’s most popular independent news source and discussion site, rabble.ca. In the 1990’s, Judy was the host of two national TV shows on CBC newsworld.  She is perhaps best known to Canadians as a former president of the National Action Committee on the Status of Women, Canada’s largest women’s group.  Judy was also centrally involved in the battle to legalize abortion in Canada during the 1980’s.  She recently stepped down as the Sam Gindin Chair in Social Justice and Democracy at Ryerson University.  Previous books include Transforming Power: From the Personal to the Political (Penguin 2009) and Ten Thousand Roses: The Making of a Feminist Revolution (Penguin 2005).
