The concentration focuses on the compilation, presentation and use of financial information by groups such as management, owners, investors, employers, government and other public bodies. Student’s analytical and decision making skills are developed using financial statements and other accounting models. To achieve this, courses in the basic areas of financial and managerial accounting are offered, together with a variety of specialized courses in taxation, auditing, etc.
These courses prepare students wishing to become professional accountants (C.A., C.M.A., C.G.A.) as well as providing the basis for a variety of other business designations (C.I.M., C.B.I., etc.).
To complete a B.B.A. with an Accounting Concentration students are required to complete the following courses: The following program requirements are specific to students entering in the Fall 2011 semester. - 42 credits of required Business Core courses which are composed of ECO102, ECO103, BMA140, BMA141, BAC121, BAC221, BFN200, BCS220, BHR221, BMG112, BMG215, BMG311, BMK211, BMS231
- ILT100, a 1 credit information literacy and critical thinking lab course, is required for all business students.
- 24 credits of Accounting Concentration courses as listed below

- 18 credits of free electives outside of business for 90 credit B.B.A. students OR 48 credits of free electives outside of business for 120 credit B.B.A. students (18 credits of which may be business courses).
