Salary Information

As was previously stated, co-operative education work placements must be remunerated. The salary; however, is determined by you, and is reflective of your particular industry and current market conditions.  Wages should also be equitable and comparable to those of the company's current employees. Benefits are allotted at your discretion. The average salary for co-op students usually depends on how many work terms they have previously completed or how much experience they are bringing with them to the role.

*Employers should keep in mind that co-op students are responsible for assuming the costs of co-op fees as well as tuition (a co-op placement is a 3 credit course) when determining the co-op students’ salaries.
