English Undergraduates From Across Canada Gather for 2nd Annual Conference

March 8, 2011

SHERBROOKE, QC, March 8, 2011 — The Second Annual QUEUC (Quebec Universities English Undergraduate Conference) is being held on the Bishop’s University campus on March 18 and March 19. Join students from English departments across the province and across Canada with representation from Mount Allison, Carleton, University of Ottawa, Queen’s and Grant McEwan (Alberta) for a weekend of academic collaboration, provocative panels, and delightful social events.

Last year’s inaugural conference was a smashing success with over 70 student panelists. This year, after a rigorous vetting process, we are expecting an even higher calibre of undergraduate scholarship.  QUEUC is a wonderful opportunity to share ideas and enthusiasm with undergraduates and faculty from across the country in a collaborative, intellectually stimulating environment. Students, faculty, staff and members of the community are welcome.

Registration for QUEUC is $20 for students and $40 for faculty and non-students. This small fee gives you access to the student conference panels, the plenary talk by Dr. Thomas Doherty, two wine and cheese receptions, three meals and admission to the Saturday night poetry slam.

To register please visit: www.ubishops.ca/queuc. Alternatively, participants may register off-line by dropping off the registration fee (either cash or a cheque, made out to Jessica Riddell) to Cheryl Porter (Morris House 2). If you are unable to make it to campus, please email Kristy Benz (kbenz08@ubishops.ca) to register manually. We will try our hardest to accommodate any last minute registration.
