Lennoxville Outstanding Achievement Awards

Sherbrooke QC – Last night the Borough of Lennoxville held its 20th annual Outstanding Achievement Awards evening. The Awards are designed to recognize the outstanding involvement of the Borough of Lennoxville residents within their community. Awards are handed out for nine categories throughout the evening; Bishop’s University was well represented, with members of our community receiving the following awards:
Arts & Culture: Luce Couture for her exceptional work at Centennial Theatre.
Citizenship & Volunteer Work: Heather Thomson for her leadership and dedication to humanitarian causes.
Business Development: David Monty for his leadership with the Dobson Lagassé Centre and the important work being done to support/develop local entrepreneurs.
Education: Prof. Rourke, Prof. Haigh, and the B.Ed students for the Individual Differences Conference that has become a fantastic resource for teachers in the Townships, and now the rest of the province.
Heroism: Bert Collins and Bob Salesse for their efforts to ensure 65 retired nurses were able to make it home safely from the OLGC during the dangerous October 1 floods.
Bishop’s graduates were also recognized with Awards in three other categories:
Urbanism: Brian Allatt ’90 for the restoration of the Elmwood.
Sports: Robbie Fisk ’97 (Head Coach) and the Galt Pipers Hockey Team for their provincial championship season.
Donald Patrick Award: Nancy Baldwin ’76 for exceptional service to the community.
