Bishop’s Business Students Advance to NIBS International Finals

SHERBROOKE, QC - February 8, 2010

Four  students from Bishop’s Williams School of Business will represent their University  in the final round of the 14th annual Network of International  Business Schools (NIBS) academic case competition. The competition will be hosted  by the International Business Academy in Kolding, Denmark from March 8 to 13.

To advance to the final  round of the case competition, the team of Vicky Schaefer (Williamstown, ON),  Andrew Willis (Whitby, ON), Elliott Verreault (Cap-Rouge, QC), and Stefan  Lemieux (North Vancouver, BC) beat out several other European, Canadian and  American Business Schools.

“We are very proud of  the accomplishments of these four students,” said Dr. Steve Harvey, Dean of the  Williams School of Business. “Thanks to their hard work and the preparation  from Bishop’s rigorous business curriculum, students in the Williams School of  Business continue to be competitive among the world’s very best.”

The Williams School of  Business boasts a long record of success at the NIBS case competition, having  qualified for the championship round in each of the 14 years of the  competition. Bishop’s has won the championship four times and has placed second  four times.

These four students  will compete in the finals against nine other Universities for the NIBS  Championship, including Rotterdam University  of Applied Sciences, Helsinki School of Economics, Dublin Institute of  Technology, Tennessee Tech University, Concordia University and KH Leuven of  Belgium.

This year's team is  coached by Bill Robson, a professor of strategic management in the Williams  School of Business.
