Bishop’s has become the only accredited location outside Montreal and Quebec City to administer the Test d’évaluation du français (TEF) certification and Diplôme de français professionnel (DFP) thanks to an international partnership with the Chambre de commerce et d’Industrie Paris – Île-de-France (CCI).

Those who need to demonstrate an internationally-recognized standard of French competency – such as New Canadians settling in Quebec, for instance – can now conveniently pass their test at Bishop’s University and no longer need to travel to Montreal or Quebec City.

The tests Bishop’s is now accredited to administer include the Test d’évaluation de français pour l’accès au Québec (TEFAQ) the CCI’s French fluency test which is recognized by the Ministère de l’Immigration de la diversité et de l’Inclusion du Québec (MIDI) to demonstrate the required B2 level of French proficiency for New Canadians who wish to establish themselves in Quebec.

Through this partnership, Bishop’s joins numerous other institutional partners of the CCI around the world who are accredited to certify this examination. By playing this role within our local community in the Eastern Townships, Bishop’s University once again demonstrates its commitment to being an active and positive force for knowledge mobilization within our welcoming and inclusive community.
